Welcome to the Blinn Cybersecurity Club! As we begin the spring semester, we want to share an update on where the club currently stands and what you can expect moving forward.
The club is in the final stages of approval process with Student Leadership & Activities. Once approval is complete we will officially be able to hold meetings and operate as a recognized student organization. While we wait for the final confirmation, planning and groundwork are already underway.
This semester will serve as a pilot for the club. While we habe big ideas for the future, our primary focus right now is to lay a strong foundation and grow from there. Early meeting will focus on community building, hands on learning, and practical cybersecurity skills anyone can apply to their life. I hope to be able to secure guest speakers (industry professionals, recruiters, etc.) as the club becomes more established.
To keep everyone connected, we have officially launched the Blinn Cybersecurity Club Discord server. This will be our main hub for communication, discussion, and updates. Members can also use Discord to provide input on meeting topics and help determine meeting times that work best for the group. At the moment, Friday afternoons are being considered for the meetings, but this is subject to change based on feedback.
This website and our Instagram page will continue to be updated throughout the semester with news, announcements, and information regarding our club. In the meantime, check out our growing resources page to start exploring cybersecurity tools and learning materials.
We are excited to build a strong cybersecurity community at Blinn and appreciate your patience and interest as we get things up and running. If you are interested in getting involved, we encourage you to join the Discord and stay tuned for updates on our first official meeting.
